Holland Rijnland is a consortium of fourteen municipalities in the province of South Holland, including Leiden. The Holland Rijnland region boasts an enviable expertise base in the field of life sciences and biotechnology. And the biggest single concentration of that expertise is Leiden's Bio Science Park. Holland Rijnland aims to establish a successful biobased cluster in the region, capable of delivering real added value for the locality, the province, the nation and ultimately Europe and the wider world.
Holland Rijnland commissioned a team made up of Leon Mur of Iventus, Nettie Buitelaar of Leiden Bio Science Park and Theo Noordman of the Delft Knowledge Alliance to draw up an Action Plan for the realization of a biobased cluster in the region. Building on that plan, a number of implementation projects have followed, with Iventus playing a key role in the programme management and communication activities.
